I am a Mixed Media
Artist, who blends brilliant colors, textures and light. My paintings
involve many layers of concealing, revealing, enhancing and building.
Above all, I adore texture. Taking an intuitive approach when working
keeps my creativity alive, as well as experimenting with an expanding
range of mixed media. I enjoy playful expression and see it as vital to
my work. The greatest joy for me is in the endless possibility of creative discovery.
My passion for art was rediscovered after experiencing the tragic loss of my brother. The grieving process became a catalyst for me to return to what I love most, painting. Not only did I rediscover my passion for art, I discovered the healing power of creativity. Now, through the dramatic use of color, texture and light, I paint and teach art for the joy of it and for sharing my joy with others.
I came across your site while researching my family genealogy. Virtue is the surname I am researching and I believe that Frank McVay Virtue was your step father who married Virginia May (Evans) French in 1988. I think that you have two brothers, Robert Craig French and Dean Wesley French (who died in 2011 if I am correct). I am only a few years older than you I think but I lost both my mother and my husband last year and am still dealing with their passing. You said in one of your 2017 posts that you hoped that your works inspire joy and passion and I want to tell you that that is what I see in your work. I live in Ontario Canada, but have relatives living in Colorado. If I get to Colorado again, I will try to view your Collection. Thanks for posting your photos.
